Philatelic Society of Sri Lanka, a company limited by guarantee has been formed and registered on 25th April 2024. The official announcement to public was made by its founding President Dulshan Ellawela on his facebook page with a news release from Daily Mirror on 1st October 2024.
Dulshan Ellawela take reins as its first Chairperson (founder). The first Directors of the company are:
- Dulshan Ellawela
- Prof. Sarath Chandrajeewa
- Indrajith Tirimanne
The main objectives of the company are:
- To promote, encourage and contribute to the advancement of philately in Sri Lanka.
- To publish bulletins, newsletters or journals.
- To publish or sponsor the publication of papers and books and to hold or support the holding of exhibitions, displays, competitions and meetings with any aspect of philately in Sri Lanka.
- To work closely with Postal Department of Sri Lanka.
The company however would not be carrying any primary or secondary education in Sri Lanka.
