A stamp and FDC was issued to commemorate Sridhara Vincent Subasinghe on 24th August 2024.
Vincent Subasinghe was a Sri Lankan philanthropist, social worker, social entrepreneur and an active member of Sri Lankan renaissance movement during the British colonial times. He is considered to be the “father of the cooperative movement” in Sri Lanka. Based on his great contribution to the socio-economical development to his home region of Sandalankawa of Kurunegala district, he was also called “Sandalanka Sanda” (Moon of Sandalankawa).
