Vesak 2025 (2569) Stamp issues

To commemorate Vesak in 2025 (2569), 3 stamps, 1 Miniature sheet and 1 First Day Cover was released on 10th May 2025.

This was at the International Buddhist Centre in Nuwara Eliya under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. Accordingly, three stamps featuring murals from three temples in the Nuwara Eliya district were created for the Vesak festival. They are the Araththana Raja Maha Viharaya, the Lihiniyagala Raja Maha Viharaya, and the Pothgul Raja Maha Viharaya.

The first-day cover was designed using the statues depicted in the Bambarakele Temple, while the painted dagoba located in the Pothgul Rajamaha Viharaya was used for the souvenir sheet.
