In 2003, Vanuatu Post created an official Post Office with a difference. It is the world’s first Underwater Post Office. The Underwater Post Office is situated within the Hideaway Island marine sanctuary in approximately 3 metres of water, about 50 meters from the shore of the island of Vanuatu.
It is possible for both divers and snorkelers to post special “waterproof postcards”.
